On August 28 at the Big Data Expo 2024,  ten leading technological achievements were unveiled, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in big data across various domains. These include Alibaba Cloud's Apsara Stack enterprise edition ”next-generation multi-core and multi-computing power" platform for government and enterprise cloud services, precise identification technology for agricultural pests and diseases in complex environments, China Mobile's Jiutian Chuanliu travel demand model, advancements in databases and software for neurological diseases diagnosis and treatment, and China Unicom's ultra-large-scale integrated lake and warehouse big data platform. These achievements are not just technologically superior but also hold great potential for broad application.

For future-oriented development, it is crucial to focus on the forefront of future technologies and industries, accelerate innovation in areas such as new-generation information technology, AI, quantum technology, biotechnology, new energy, and new materials, and foster emerging and future-oriented industries.

In recent years, Guizhou has aligned itself with industry trends. Leveraging its industrial foundation and resource endowment, the province has focused on five key areas: industrial transformation, smart cities, digital rural development, comprehensive tourism, and public services, driving innovation in AI applications. The 'Ten Thousand Enterprises Integration' initiative has encouraged over 30,000 enterprises to adopt cloud services. In 2023, the integration of big data with the real economy in Guizhou reached a level of 46.5. Currently, Guizhou is actively developing distinct digital industry clusters to support the modern industry system, with the annual output value (revenues) of the big data and electronic information industry reaching 220 billion yuan, doubling over the past five years.

Previously, rendering special effects for a 3D animation movie on an ordinary computer would have taken nearly 600 years. Now, at the Gui'an Super Computing Center, equipped with over 600 servers, the process takes just three months.

A high-speed train takes 10 hours to cover the 2,200 kilometers from the China Telecom Cloud Computing Information Park in Guizhou to Beijing, while computing power can transmit this distance in less than 20 milliseconds.

In line with the national 'east-to-west computing resource transfer' strategy, Guizhou has established a national integrated computational power network hub, deploying over 100,000 AI chips, achieving a computational capacity of over 40 EFLOPS (floating-point operations per second). This powerful computing capacity facilitates the digital transformation of various industries nationwide.

From space exploration to weather forecasting, and from scientific research to everyday life, computing power in the digital era is as essential as water and electricity, serving as a robust engine for the digital development of various industries. The National Data Administration released the latest data at the Big Data Expo: by the end of June 2024, the total number of racks of the eight national hub nodes of the "east-to-west computing resource transfer" project had surpassed 1.95 million, with an overall utilization rate of around 63%, and the network latency between eastern and western hub nodes had largely met the 20-millisecond requirement.

In recent years, Guizhou has made concerted efforts to develop computing power clusters and has actively developed intelligent computing-focused data centers. It has facilitated the transition of existing data centers from mere storage facilities to integrated storage and computing centers. This transformation aims to store, process, and utilize data effectively, providing new solutions and breakthroughs to address the industry's burning need for computing power. Guizhou has 47 key data centers under construction or in operation, including 25 large-scale or larger, making it one of the regions with the highest concentration of super-large data centers globally, and its overall computing power ranks among the nation’s top.Guizhou is also aligning with industry trends by developing new sectors supported by computing power, including Beidou, metaverse, platform economy, rendering, e-sports, and animation, thereby fostering new growth opportunities for the digital economy.
