"Guizhou is rising up!" On May 26, at the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2023, Guillaume Delvallee, Consul General of the French Consulate General in Chengdu, praised Guizhou with fluent Guizhou dialect.

This is the first time that Guillaume Delvallee has participated in the Big Data Expo since he took office, for which he is full of expectations. "This grand event of the Internet and big data has brought together regulatory agencies, government departments, enterprises, experts and scholars in relevant fields, providing an important platform for enhancing mutual understanding."

Guillaume Delvallee believed that the Expo is important not only for China and France, but also for all countries in the world. “The Big Data Expo makes everyone realize that China and France, and even whole the world should work together to build big data a global industry.”

China and France see broad prospects for cooperation in emerging fields such as big data and artificial intelligence. Guillaume Delvallee said that big data itself is just a massive database. How to better safeguard data security, achieve data sharing, and promote data openness should be one of the topics for China-France cooperation in related fields.

Guillaume Delvallee had visited Guizhou before and was attracted by the beautiful scenery, friendly people and diverse ethnic minority culture in the area. And these are the reasons why French companies are hoping to invest in Guizhou.

When it comes to cooperation in big data, Guillaume Delvallee particularly mentioned the concept of "digital farm". “Many French companies are interested in the big data applications in agriculture in Guizhou. France is a country with developed agriculture, and many experts and scholars are carrying out relevant research around digital farms. "

After visiting Guizhou University last year, Guillaume Delvallee was also impressed by Guizhou's educational development. “In addition to smart education, China and France can also strengthen exchanges and cooperation in higher education and vocational education."

Next year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Speaking of the Sino-Franch Culture Year, Guillaume Delvallee was very proud. “France is one of the first Western countries to establish diplomatic relations with China. In 1964, France and China formally established diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level, and the two peoples have enjoyed a time-honored friendship."

For this reason, France is making intense preparations for a series of cultural exchange activities. Guillaume Delvallee said that he welcomes all cultural institutions, research institutes, and universities in China and Guizhou to give advice and suggestions for the event.

"Apart from maintaining long-term and stable cooperation at government level through the  Sino-French Culture Year, we should also increase exchanges at non-government level.” Guillaume Delvallee said that he hopes to strengthen Sino-French cooperation in business, scientific research, and cultural exchanges, especially in youth exchanges, so that the youth of China and France can work together to open up a new future.
